Accessible Greenhouse Project, St Werburghs City Farm, Bristol

The Accessible Greenhouse Project will replace a dilapidated greenhouse with a safe, accessible, and fit-for-purpose structure to enable adults with learning disabilities to learn about horticulture all year round, and improve accessibility in the Farm’s polytunnel. External landscaping will provide improved storage, outdoor seating and calming, sensory breakout space (benefiting adults with autism). The project will also create volunteer opportunities for ten young people and develop new signage and interpretation to enhance the educational impact of the greenhouse for the Farm’s 40,000 visitors. The greenhouse will be aluminum-framed so will not rust or need significant ongoing maintenance.
