Accessible Indoor Area for Wellbeing Groups

The project aims to retrofit an existing shipping‑container office to create a fully accessible, warm, and weatherproof indoor space for community use. Works will include installing an accessible entrance with ramps and handrails, upgrading insulation and ventilation, and reconfiguring the interior to provide full wheelchair access and improved usability for individuals with limited mobility.

The upgraded facility will increase capacity for wellbeing activities, supporting a significant rise in participation, particularly among Disabled residents and those referred through social prescribing. By providing additional indoor space, the project is expected to enable an estimated 500–700 additional annual attendances, improving access to wellbeing sessions, workshops, and volunteering opportunities. This development will enhance community inclusion and support better mental and physical health outcomes.
