Projects / Accessing the Bann – Bann Rowing Club

Accessing the Bann – Bann Rowing Club

Our primary objective is the replacement of the boathouse steps. This is of urgent concern as the collapse of structural failure of these steps will result in all sporting activity at this location ceasing. At this time we cannot support external activity at the site due to our concerns over the safety of this facility. The replacement of the steps would allow for rejuvenation and public accessibility around this key potential public asset on the River Bann.

Key objectives:
• Development of a publicly accessible, safe and user-friendly river access facility.
• Replacement of the wooden steps at Bann Rowing clubhouse.
• Support the facility’s development as a centre for boating and water-based leisure activity.
• Partner with other organisations to fully utilise this place as a public amenity that enhances community wellbeing and environmental protection.
• Continue to maintain this place as an important centre for the promotion of environmental stewardship and appreciation of the river amenity.
