Achlochan Coastal Heritage

To safeguard and restore the natural heritage at Achlochan. The project aims to safeguard and restore the area around Loch Pol an Dunan by restoration and enhancement works and associated reed bed system. The site restoration works will involve the reclamation of an area of open water by removal of reeds, rushes and mud thereby attracting back wildlife. Access improvements, path improvements, will enable the public and in particular bird watchers to visit the site and it is planned to use the reeds for thatching a simple discrete shelter in this very remote location.
