Action for Mendip’s Bats

Greater and lesser horseshoe bats are two of Britain’s most vulnerable mammals following major declines in population between the 1960s and 1980s. There are two key factors in conserving Horseshoe Bats: the availability of warm, weatherproof roosts, and plentiful feeding habitat within range of the roosts. We will improve a key roost site for the bats by making it more weatherproof and improve habitat on nature reserves within the foraging range of roosts.
