Actions for Wood Pastures in the Lower Dales of Dumfries & Galloway

The project aims to promote sustainable management of wood pasture, a LBAP habitat that has evolved over time producing a distinct mix of old & veteran trees in a grassland setting. This project will create a unique scheme, through partnership working between conservation organisations & landowners, producing demonstration sites & training events & direct action on farms. Objectives of the project include locating wood pasture sites, developing action plans for those sites, implementing on the grounds works and increasing access, awareness & understanding of the habitat
