Affetside Millennium Green

The project is part of Affetside Green Trust’s on- going commitment and responsibility to maintain and develop the Green as a focal point for community acitivity. Since the closure of the village school in 2002 the importance of the Green for getting the community together has increased significantly. The project aims to:
Continue development of the millennium green’s original concept, referencing the local landscape.
Refresh the site to increase visual impact, enhance its use as the location for village activities and increase the proportion of native species plants.
Introduce a moor land garden; heather and local stone.
