Aldham Village Hall Rebuild

In 2007 serious structural failings were discovered at Aldham Village Hall which had caused one of the main supporting walls of the hall to bow outwards and put pressure on the roof structure stability. As a result a series of 3 props were installed in the middle of the main hall to support the roof.
The hall committee investigated the possibility of completely rebuilding the hall but this proved too expensive. Therefore the decision was made to demolish and rebuild the main hall structure and adjoining concrete storerooms, removing asbestos sections found there, whilst retaining the newer front extension.
