Alexandra Park – Shared Space Regeneration Project

The project aims to transform a derelict and neglected space around the pond within Alexandra Park into a nature trail with seating interpretive panels and fishing platforms. This project will provide much needed facilities in the Park for both sections of the local community. It will provide young people and other residents with the opportunity to become actively involved in the regeneration of their local park thereby promoting involvement and enhancing ownership and pride in our local Park. The consultation has identified the need for the project and ongoing meetings have prioritised that need to this project. This project will also provide a great boost to the cross community Steering Group that has been working with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement regeneration proposals for the Park.
