All Saints Church, Lapley, Stafford – Creating a Community Space (006323)

Develop All Saints into a community church at the heart of village life, enabling this ancient Grade 1 listed building to be of benefit to many more people. Events and activities, such as coffee mornings, drop-ins, knit’n’natter, moms & toddlers, youth club, ‘Flix-in-the-Stix’ as well as our usual fundraising events, will be run by existing church volunteers, new groups and agencies. Local people, old and young, will feel less isolated, church will once again be the centre for welfare and hospitality.

This project provides a community space with toilet and kitchen facilities. The most appropriate place for the kitchen is in the north-west corner, necessitating the re-siting of the font. The toilet would be sited in the south-west corner, separated from the kitchen by an entrance lobby. The church proper would be accessed via double doors through this lobby.
