All Saints Church, Narborough

The roof of the church is at serious risk and until the roof is restored, the main fabric of the church is also at risk. The work planned on the roof will restore it to a standard that will prevent further deterioration or risk to the main fabric of the building. Areas of the roof have significantly decayed allowing water to seep in and rain drips through in a number of places and water staining is evident on the underside of the roof. Many slates have come adrift, there is no felt underlay and nails are corroded allowing more slippage of slates which is causing further damage. Over the winter of 2014/15, a significant number of tiles have fallen from the roof and buckets are a regular feature in the church. Unless the work is undertaken very soon, there will be increased decay in the timberwork and plaster and this will increase the risk of damage to both the external and internal finishes. This work is now critical and the fabric is at imminent risk of loss if the work is not carried out soon.
