All-Weather Practice Facility Refurbishment, Old Wulfrunians Tettenhall Cricket Club

The project is the refurbishment of the 3-lane all-weather facility and installation of security fencing.

The all-weather facility was originally installed almost two decades ago and now requires urgent attention. The project will also include the installation of security fencing in order to ensure that the refurbishments and the wider facility are well maintained and safe for community use.

This project will address several critical needs in the area. Wolverhampton has been identified as having lower levels of physical activity compared to national averages. Over a third of the adult population in Wolverhampton engages in less than 30 minutes of physical activity per week, which is worse than the national average.

Improved sports facilities play a vital role in community cohesion and youth development. The nets are used by various age groups and the grounds are utilised by a local Asian league and by several schools such as Colton Hill, Wolverhampton Grammar, Highfields School, and Smestow School. Accessible facilities are essential in promoting mental well-being and social inclusion.
