Alrewas Village Hall - Flat Roof Replacement

Alrewas Village Hall provides a venue for community activities for a population of approximately 3500 residents. There are over 20 community groups that provide clubs, activities and entertainment to cater for all ages. The Hall is a focal point for village life, providing a venue for diverse activities on a regular or one-off basis, such as exercise classes, drama, music, workshops, sports and dance for children as well as many other ad hoc meetings and events.
In 2015 the Hall had an extension and renovations to include a new multi-use area, kitchen and toilet facilities. These works have proved extremely successful and the use of the hall has increased dramatically since completion.
At the time of the 2015 work, the flat roof immediately above the original entrance to the Hall was not replaced. This roof extends over the backstage area, used regularly by Alrewas Dramatic Society, and other stage users. Time and weather have had their usual effect on this roof and it is now leaking, causing water ingress. This project will address the findings of an Inspection which has shown that it requires stripping back the felt and boarding to the rafters and replacement of said felt and boarding. The coping stones will also be removed, repointed and replaced. Damp ingress will also require selective repair.
