Altens Play Area

The project is to introduce playground equipment and upgrade an established Play Area close by Altens Community Centre. The equipment has mostly been removed by the City Council as it was beyond economic repair. The remaining equipment is nearing the end of its useful life but does not form a priority for improvement by the Council.
A perimeter fence is planned to provide additional security to children playing in the area from vehicle traffic.
A footpath is also planned to provide both safe access for pedestrians into the play area and the Community centre which at present can only be accessed along the road.
Improvement to the play area includes the introduction of additional toddler equipment in order to provide additional facilities for the Community Centre nursery.
