Anerley Town Hall, Bromley – Access Improvements (006308)

The project will provide much needed space and facilities for children, young people and families locally. It will operate 7 days a week.

After renovation the Old Library building will be suitable for multiple community use – it’s a large divisible space and will be used for youth clubs, after school and holiday play clubs, children’s birthday parties and for meetings of community groups and training sessions to build their capacity.

The applicants are working with several voluntary organisations and the Statutory youth service to encourage a consortia approach to resourcing and funding. Independent providers can hire space cheaply by the hour to deliver activities like martial arts, dance. Citizens advice will use it on a sessional basis.

The applicants also intend to provide a Community Cafe which will become a place for all to meet and reduce isolation in both young and old alike.
