Angus Orchards Project

This project will plant 330 fruit trees to form orchards in schools and country parks in Angus. The tree species will include selected varieties of cooking and eating apples and historical local varieties of apple trees. Other species to be planted include, Plum. Pear, Walnut Cherries. Primarily the creation of orchards will have a significant biodiversity value. This project will promote healthy physical activity in the short term in the planting of the trees and in environmental and food source education. In the long term it will be a healthy food source and environmental and food/fruit source education opportunity.
