Annan Bruce Statue Project

The project is to install a statue of King Robert the Bruce on a plinth on the front of Annan Town Hall. Bruce has strong connections with the area and a nearby motte (Annan Motte and Bailey) is currently undergoing restorative management. It was built by Bruce’s son, the first Lord Annandale
A community group has been formed for the sole purpose of the project (www.brucestatueproject.org). The Town Hall is B- listed but there is an ’empty’ plinth in situ and the project has support in principle from the council and Historic Scotland.
