Anstice Memorial Hall, Madeley – Access Improvements (006357)

The project will bring a lovely old building back into full use and open to the whole community for the first time in generations.

The Anstice will provide an important meeting place, a Community facility where everyone can get together to enjoy a cup of coffee, traditional entertainment, live music, performances and family celebrations. The ballroom is currently opened up for events which take place primarily in the evenings and weekends, however access is limited to the able bodied of the community.

There are few affordable local venues in Telford and the community spirit and local connections suffer as a consequence. A lively, active Anstice at the heart of Madeley has the capacity to breathe new life into the town and to regenerate the surrounding area. Once refurbished the building can be opened up more regularily for day time activities.

The development will provide full access to the whole building for the first time by providing a lift and new staircase.
