Armstrong Hall, Salford – Community Building Refurbishment

The project will bring a community facility back into regular use by repairing a floor damaged by damp, damp-proofing and repainting the building and installing a new kitchen. The Scout Hut, as well as providing a weekly meeting place for the local Scout group, also hosts numerous other community groups including the Salvation Army, parent and toddler groups, martial arts, dancing groups and weight loss clubs.

However, during the pandemic, it was discovered that the building’s damp-proofing had failed, leading to the flooring and joists being in an unsafe state, meaning that community activities cannot resume. By repairing the damaged floor, repainting the walls and installing a new kitchen, the project will create a safe, appealing community space that is accessible to all.
