Arne Grantscape Heathland Management Project

The project will extend and improve the RSPB’s flagship Arne Nature Reserve on the Arne Peninsula in Dorset. It will begin with the acquisition of 34 hectares of land, representing the key missing link in an otherwise continuous area of internationally important lowland heathland and diverse associated habitats. Thereafter, conservation works will cover a total area of 978 hectares. The aquired land will be returned to favourable condition and a further 500 hectares of lowland heathland will be maintained and managed for biodiversity gain, together with seven othe priority habitats.
