Arthur Jacob Nature Reserve Reed Bed Creation

Problems with water levels and water feed at the reed beds has resulted in the enroachment of bramble, goats rue and willow with consequent reduced diversity.
More sustainable reed beds will be created by improving the water feed by restoring a neglected pond through large tree works, removal of the encroaching species, coppicing the willow and by transferring reed from the lagoons.
