Ascension Hall Renovation and Refurbishment

The building has seen little renovation over the years and income, whilst enough to cover running costs, is not enough to cover any renovation. To ensure the building remains open to the public the flat roof requires re-felting and external downpipes (asbestos) need replacing. Dual height wooden windows are single glazed and draughty, and the toilets and kitchen, whilst both clean and functional, were installed in the 1980s and they are inefficient and not appealing to users. Furthermore, the applicant would like to zone the existing heating system and redecorate throughout.

Regular weekly groups include two dance troupes, choir, three uniformed groups, slimming club and a ladies group. The facilities are used for a mid-week church service, and it is also available for private hire.
