Astley Lake Vegetation Control Project

Astley Lake is located off Fleet Lane in the Lower Aire Valley near Swillington. It is monitored and maintained by volunteers from Swillington Ings Bird Group.

The project involves the purchase of 2 brushcutters, a chain saw, a strimmer and protective equipment to allow the group to undertake vital clearance work on the islands and surrounds of Astley Lake to improve and maintain the habitat for wildlife.
