Auchmill Community Woodland

This project at Auchmill Community Woodland forms part of the WIAT (woods in and around towns initiative ) which will improve access and woodland management at 13 woods in the city and involves Forestry Commission Scotland and Aberdeen City Council. The project at Auchmill will improve the quality of life of Aberdeen residents through increasing access to the woods and improving the woodland management of the site. There will be increased community participation engaging local people with their woodlands.
Auchmill Community Woodland covers 8.8 hectares and is owned and managed by Aberdeen City Council. Work here will involve new paths, signage and woodland management. The Landfill Community Fund will be used to improve access with the work being carried out by volunteers. Bucksburn and Newhills Community Council is supportive of the project.
