Aughton Woods Nature Reserve Enhancement

Aughton Woods is made up of a complex semi-natural woodland,including an SSSI on a steep bank above grazed meadows. This project will reinstate stock proof fencing along the existing boundary in order to maintain the integrity of the woodland and allow natural regeneration of the flood plain grazing marsh/meadow. This project will contibute towards three BAP habitats: broadleaved and mixed woodland, species-rich neutral grassland and coastal and flood plain grazing marsh.

LTCS funding will be used towards fencing.
