Avenue House Estate, Finchley - Garden Drains & Pond Project (20113/D/TP)

The project aims to provide a new drain to replace a failed section of the original drainage system on the gardens, thus feeding the pond by gravity, re-watering the former wet garden, associated path restoration, de-silting the pond, and providing a dipping platform to the pond. Aim of the project: Reduced energy consumption by replacing a pump with gravity feed. Restoration of historic cascade. Improvements to pond by de-silting and better oxygenation. Pond will maintain its level as on a through flow once more. Better access to the pond from dipping platform. Better access to the grounds by reducing flooding risk. The Trust grant will contribute towards the garden drains and pond project.
