Awash With Wildlife – Stanground Wash

This forms part of a wider project ‘Awash With Wildlife’, to safeguard and improve key areas of floodplain grazing marsh at two Wildlife Trust nature reserves in Cambridgeshire. The wider project will protect these habitats for breeding waders, internationally important populations of wintering wildfowl and other UK BAP species.

The work at Stanground Wash will safeguard and conserve the distinctiveness of this habitat for a range of nationally rare beetles and plants, including BAP species grass-wrack pondweed, as well as its bird population. It will also encompass repairs to the access bridge to the reserve, so ensuring safety for visitors.
