BAC Sustainable Future Project

BAC aims to restore and re-develop our Grade II* Listed building improving its thermal efficiency (reducing carbon footprint/ energy costs) and increasing our ability to use the building for cultural activities. Every year we receive over 220,000 visits from people attending productions and events and 2,500 children and young people attending workshops. The first phase of works (2009 – 2011) has been divided into three projects intended to develop the capacity of the Grand Hall to host events and productions, to improve public spaces and ambience, and to reduce carbon impact through wood burners, secondary glazing and low energy lighting.
