Back from the Brink

At Slimbridge, WWT has 60 years of experience of conservation education and public awareness, around 200,000 visitors a year, and an exciting period of growth and redevelopment ahead. A cornerstone of these new plans is ‘Back from the Brink’ – 2.5 acres of wetland landscape, showcasing charismatic species at the centre of the reintroduction debate, as well as wetland native species which are currently threatened or have literally been bought back from the brink. This project is a unique opportunity to inspire and educate new and old audiences alike, and open up the debate on species loss and conservation action to save them, including reintroduction.
