Projects / Back Wood Biodiversity

Back Wood Biodiversity

This project will restructure an existing woodland, improving the tree species mix and age, ensuring its position in the wider habitat network for the future. Silvicultural works will also be carried out to remove dead and dangerous trees, with glades being opened up to encourage ground cover species. A programme to remove and control invasive species such as Rhododendron and Bracken will also be carried out. All of these actions will improve the biodiversity of this woodland and important wildlife corridor.
