Baker Street Play Area

The community local to the Baker Street site have taken an active role in the development of a perceived local eyesore. Upgrading the existing sites apparatus and visual amenity is a priority, whilst still allowing space to play active sports. They value the site as one of few local open spaces with informal oversight and one that is easily accessible on a daily basis.
The revised scheme hopes to provide durable play equipment and natural features that encourage inclusive play that is not age-prescriptive. The combination of structures and natural elements, with improved perimeter fencing (the site is adjacent to the the highway), will help young people and the wider community enjoy a stimulating, safe, doorstep greenspace.
