Bala Way Play Project

The play equipment at the site was removed 4 years ago due to its conditions and has not been replaced. Since the removal the site looks abandoned, unkempt and makes the area look unattractive and unsafe. Local residents have come together to form a group to improve the area for all the community but especially the younger children who can not go too far away to play. The area will be improved with planting, benches, cycle rack, bins and community signage to create a social hub for all local residents to meet and socialise. New play equipment will provide challenges that help to develop physical dexterity and strength which is important in the development of young children. It will provide stimulation to the senses and encourage cognitive development, such as imagination and communication.
