Balgonie Bleachfield Project

The project will bring back into community use a derelict area of land that was used for landfill by turning the site into a wildlife area, conserving the natural environment of the area and maintaining and increasing present biodiversity of species. Providing pathways around the site will allow the public to access for leisure purposes, interpretive signage will be used to raise public awareness of the biodiversity value of the area, the Fife Ranger service will work with school children undertaking small – scale environmental projects. Making the site more publicly accessible will create a sense of community ownership
