Bankhead Moss – Raised Bog Restoration

This is a biodiversity project for the restoration of the Moss at Bankhead in Fife. The project involves raising the water table by removing trees that have invaded the moss, along with the construction of dams and excavating shallow scrapes in the drier more exposed areas of the crown of the bog and seeding them with sphagnum moss from the healthier areas
