Bankhead Moss Restoration Project

Bankhead Moss is a small raised bog with the characteristic domed centre – it is one of the two best examples of raised bogs remaining in North East Fife and is nationally important as a raised bog. The aim of the project is to restore Bankhead Moss to a favourable ecological condition and to upgrade access and infrastructure. Habitat restoration work will be carried out such as tree felling, dam improvements and pond clearance. Access and infrastructure work planned includes boardwalk and footbridge construction, upgrading of the bird hide and car park re-surfacing.
