Barber Wood – Improving Ecological Integrity to Support Wildlife Recovery in the Cotswolds

To undertake a targeted programme of work to help improve the quality and condition of limestone grassland and the structural diversity of the young, even aged woodland at Barber Wood.

The work will benefit these two Priority Habitats and associated species, boosting biodiversity of the site.

Key work:
1) Installation of drinking water provision to support a phased implementation of cattle grazing
2) Reconfiguration of deer and stock fencing (some removal, some installation)
3) Thinning of the young woodland
4) Public engagement to build empathy and support for the work and awareness of its importance to wildlife
