Barn Owls on the River Medway

This project is to replace and add to the existing series of dual barn owl & kestrel boxes adjacent to the Medway Navigation between Tonbridge and Maidstone. The project will replace 14 barn owl nest boxes, 14 kestrel boxes and 4 pole mounted dual boxes. Over the last 15 years a series of the boxes have been erected and monitoried as part of a national scheme providing nesting sites for threatened species however a number of the boxes are now in need of replacement as they have come to the end of their expected life.
