Baron’s Haugh Wetland Biodiversity Enhancement Programme

The project will improve UK BAP Lowland Fen habitat. This will be achieved by the installation of a specialist sluice which will allow fine control over the water levels over the reserve. In addition, specialist soft-track machinery will be contracted to cut back high fen. Both areas of work will greatly improve the lowland fen habitat for breeding waders, winter wildfowl and swans
