Battersea Rise Wood & Nursery Wood, Clapham Common – Wet woodland restoration and access project (006997)

The aims of the project are to create access to wildlife and improve sustainability at Battersea Rise Wood and Nursery Wood on Clapham Common.
Access to the woodland will be created through the clearing of paths, channelling of rainwater, lifting of the canopy and adding interpretation . Sustainability will be achieved through the creation of 15 linked seasonal wetlands, with land bridges, managing surface rainwater, creating habitat, and ensuring trees have access to water. Trees will be thinned, a dead hedge network created, bat and bird boxes installed and wildflowers planted.
