Bear Church, Deptford - Community Hall refurbishment (008346)

By fitting out the gallery space of the building, the project will provide a venue for local groups, events, and residents to gather, offering more effective, cohesive, and holistic support for those living in the area, as well as the broader community, by providing a fully functional, accessible, and welcoming environment.
The gallery on the first floor will be a flexible space with adjustable partitions. The room can accommodate large meetings of up to 60 people, suitable for meetings, workshops or as a rehearsal space. The room will feature a kitchenette, a disabled-accessible toilet located off the room, and a lift from the ground floor.
Additional space for a range of activities, helping people learn English, eat well, make friends, acquire skills, and create community through various initiatives. Fundamentally, we want those who are socially or economically isolated to know that they are not alone, that there is a safe place where they can feel a sense of homecoming.
