Beautiful Ballantrae: Phase 1 2009/10

The aims of the project are primarily to upgrade, refurbish and repair existing facilities and features in and around the village of Ballantrae. This will improve the local amenity for all, and promote tourism, which has significant potential. We aim to encourage community involvement by using local tradespeople where possible, alongside bolunteers from both our and other local groups. The village and harbour have an important place in seafaring history. To reflect this, we plan to erect 4 lecterns overlooking the harbour, telling the story of the rich herring fishing industry of the past.
