Bedfords Park, London Borough of Havering – Trail Improvements (008096)

The old trail at Bedfords Park was installed in 1990. The trail covers the entire park and is denoted by wooden markers and information boards. This project will focus on replacing the entire trail, including boards and posts, and will combine physical interpretation and wayfinding elements with new digital technologies making the trail more accessible. The project will encourage visitors to explore unfrequented areas of the park and learn more about the park’s history, ecology and facilities. The old wooden posts have all but rotted away and the interpretation signage is outdated and has worn considerably. Renewing posts and signage will renew visitors interest in exploring and learning about their local Country Park whilst also improving the aesthetic of the park. As the world moves more digitally, this project will blend physical markers and information with a fully customisable app and webpages, allowing for instant updates for the trail and improved usability.
