Bedlam Furnaces – Icon of Industry

The Project will enable the stabilisation and repair of Bedlam Furnaces and remove the monument from risk coupled with significant improvement to the interpretation of one of the most iconic monuments of the Industrial Revolution.
English Heritage have placed the monument as High Risk on their Register of Heritage at Risk and following extensive discussions with them over the last 18 months, a decision has been made to create a roof over the structure, protecting the monument from the elements and presenting many opportunities for improved interpretation and increased access to this iconic industrial structure.
