Bee Happy

Offshoots is a demonstration garden open to the public within Towneley Park in Burnley. This project aims to: Increase the number of visitors to Offshoots by working with volunteers on: Installation of a bee trail in Towneley Park leading through the Offshoots site Installation of interpretation boards about bees on Offshoots site Installation of beekeeping styles demonstration with deffering styles of hives Installation of observational hives at Offshoots to improve interactivity of visitor bee experience Installation of demonstration bee gardens and Butterfly/other pollinators garden to encourage local community to take part in bee friendly planting in their gardens or local green space. Provision of training programme for amateur beekeepers Development and installation of honey processing room in Offshoots Stabalise the number of colonies at Offshoots apiary which will be used for delivering training
