Beechwood Park Old Paddling Pool - New Community Entertainment Area

Following public consultation which was led by the group the Friends of Newport's Ornamental Parks the public consensus was the paddling pool should be removed and replaced with some form of public entertainment area which can be used by the public for:- Traditional brass bands Modern music groups Singing and recitals Dancing and Art performances Plays and theatrical performances Works proposed 1. To fell approximately seven conifer trees and present on historical or horticultural amenity to allow more light into the area. 2. To remove the old pool plant room. 3. To fill in the old paddling pool and level the site. 4. To purchase and install x1 purpose made bandstand/entertainments area. 5. To overlay the entire old concrete base with a resin barley coating. 6. To install seating and benches.
