Belfast Window On Wildlife (Belfast WOW)

The proposal is to improve the facilities for viisitors at the RSPB’s site at Belfast Lough Nature Reserve. This is an internationally important site for birds and is designated as part of the Belfast Lough SPA and ASSI. It is also A RAMSAR wetland of international importance and a high tide roost for shore birds.
The project will craate a much bigger space for community groups, schools, photograpghers and bird watchers for gatherings, events and greater learning and understanding of the site. This will eb achieved by extending the observation room, new toilet and kitchen facilities, wet room, new interpretation panels, upgrade two existing hides to ensure they offer the best visitor experience for all target audiences.
