Belltower Water Ingress

Water ingress was noticed in the Belfry during a heavy storm. The water was pouring in around the internal brick flue and down the roof timbers above the South window of the belfry.
The problem is that there is no damp course of adequate flashings to the external brick chimney and loss of pointing mortar to the cover flashings to the tower roof. As a result, internally there is softening of the roof timbers.
We propose to take down the brickwork to the chimney stack to roof level, install a lead damp course and rebuild the chimney including repointing the flashings.
