Belmont Lakes, Hereford – South Wye Community Lakes (4900/D)

Working with local community the South Wye Regeneration Partnership and other partners are planning to establish a country park and lakes for the community to use and enjoy. The renovation and development of the lakes is part of a larger project to develop a country park on an adjacent 8 acre site. It is anticipated that the lakes site will be encompassed in the county park once it is established. In order to make the lakes accessible and safer for familes and people with disabilities it is planned to improve access and make basic improvements such as boardwalks and seating. The plan is to work with the community and voluntary sectior organisations in order to bring together volunteers to manage the site, gain environmental knowledge/education and training to complement the sense of community.
