Benefitting Biodiversity at Rainham, Wennington & Aveley Marshes

The project focuses on further improving the conservation potential of the marshes of Rainham, Wennington & Aveley Marshes (Hereafter names Rainham Marshes) which is the largest remnant of coastal and floodplain grazing marsh (a UK BAP priority habitat) in the Greater London Area.
Work will include enhancing and creating ditch systems, installing water control structures and bunding, improving bank edges and poilbanks, installing fencing, enhancing the perimete ditch habitats and areas around the river wall.
