Berkeley Town Council – Sarah’s Field

Creating a wildlife Water Meadow open to the public for quiet recreation.
Creation of a new off-line pond and wetland complex with hibernacula to benefit species including great crested newts and grass snakes.

The project will create an all abilities path as well as further close mown grass paths. A parking space will be provided for visiting groups and disabled drivers.

Native plants hedgerow and trees will be added to the site with a few of the trees being fruit bearing to create a very small orchard.

A dipping platform will be built to allow school parties to access the pond as a part of their curriculum studies.
